Mystikal : Danger (Been So Long)
This could be the crossover for hit for one of hip-hop's true stars...
'Shake Ya Ass' should have been a bigger hit over here than it was, and made 'Danger' easier to market. If 'Shake Ya Ass' was the best track from Mystikal's 'Let's Get Ready' album, 'Danger' was a close second.
Another Neptunes production, the track is full of musical subtleties, from the sparse western movie acoustic rhythm and horse-trotting
beat to the piercing vocals of Nivea on the chorus and, of course, Mystikal's Busta Rhymes-James Brown vocals. It's not quite as catchy or outrageous as 'Shake Ya Ass', but due to the charismatic Mystikal's recent press trip to this country, it should be a bigger hit.
Mystikal's a true star, and having left Master P's No Limit stable is really beginning to realise his vast potential. This track should elevate him into the mainstream quicker than Hear'Say. And he'll stay there a lot longer too.
