New Found Glory

From The Screen To Your Stereo Part II

Of all the torments in Hell, hearing NFG perform Sixpence None The Richer’s ‘Kiss Me’ is reserved for serial paedophiles and dog-rapists. So why Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba, Lisa Loeb and Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump turned up on this film song covers compilation is anybody’s guess. Ours? Contractual.

I've had this record for months now and think it is awesome. Every track is a excellent interpretation and i enjoy the guest singers contributions. For a covers LP, it's got to be worth at least 8 out 10, shamone. I've now heard all the originals as well and love those. When in Rome's The Promise is coolio.

Obviosuly the fact that people like Carrabba and Adam Lazzara gave their vocals to the covers shows that they found it a worthy cause.
Yes, it isn't the most inspired album of 2008 but if you're after upbeat, pop-punk laced songs that hold the familarity of a mother's sunday roast then this is a winner.
An album that NFG's fanbase will applaud and a band which should be commended for taking some of the most annoying 90's songs and with a little of Jordan's nasal-whine and bouncy guitar-choruses transforming them into something worth a listen.
