Get Lucky

Possibly reluctant to re-release ‘Ice Cream’ for the 43rd time, NYPC scanned their back catalogue and discovered they’ve actually got more than one good song. ‘Get Lucky’ is one of them. This glorious slice of futuro-pop prances like an army of catwalk models through Philip K Dick’s unconscious. It’s the soundtrack to make-out sessions with eroto-bots on pulsing beds of synth beneath a disco ball so massive it has its own gravitational pull. Christ knows what “Laminate your mind as though you need it/Psycho killer says it makes the shower seem great” means. Probably something about sex. Or robots.
