Shockwaves NME Awards Show: The Holloways, KOKO; Wed Feb 14

Ventriloquism and a fiddle frenzy on night three

Attempts to upstage the headliners abound tonight. The Wombats introduce a fluffy wombat for a spot of Antipodean Orville craziness, whilst the 1990s have brought an insane German contingent who know all the words. But it's the fiddle-driven pop of The Holloways that really brings cheer to the drizzle-drenched and quite possibly loveless (it is Valentine's after all) masses. It might be wet and drab outside, but in here as 'Generator' and 'Dance Floor' pound against our chests, it's sun and good times all round.
