Orbital : Funny Break (One Is Enough)

As reliable a fixture on the calendar as spring showers and bank holiday traffic jams, Orbital have carved their own space - outside fashion in dance or indie circles, often heroically uncool, but forever planting strange seeds in pop's herbacious borders. This taster for their sixth album, 'The Altogether', is solid Hartnoll fare, with ghostly vocals courtesy of Naomi Bedford, chunky-jumper beats and gliding electro-ethnic textures.'Funny Break...' is hardly likely to win these veteran sci-fi siblings many converts from the hard house underground, but it draws from the same mechanised-folk gene pool which has made Moby a millionaire in recent years.
