Placebo : The Bitter End

...you set yourself up as an irritant, you have to take the flak when people find you irritating...

Placebo could metamorphose into a mind-blowing Outkast -meets-Polyphonic Spree style psychedelic gospel hip hop collective and some people still wouldn’t be able to hear past Brian Molko’s trademark whine. That’s his lookout: you set yourself up as an irritant, you have to take the flak when people find you irritating. As it is, this comeback single sees Placebo powering along with a relentless U2- chasing-after-The Cure melody that’s as infectious as 24. Brian, meanwhile, lives out his stalker fantasies in a voice that will set many people’s teeth on edge. That’s Placebo for you.
