‘Nude’ is the great lost Radiohead song, written in the mid-’90s, but held in limbo while the band tried to figure out what to do with it in the studio. The answer, surprisingly, is to do little, beautifully. Guitars circle in quiet arpeggios, keyboards rise like a celestial choir, an orchestra murmurs and here and there the pace threatens to lift into a jazzy strut before falling back into step. It’s less a grand breakthrough, you feel, than an exorcism of an old ghost that’s been clanking around in some back cupboard, but it’s handled neatly and Thom’s voice has seldom been better.
