Republic Of Loose: 'Aaagh!'

'10 Dubliners rapping is always going to sound a bit granddad-at-the-wedding.'

The Loose clearly have dreams of pop stardom on a Timberlake/NERD scale, and with meaty beats like ‘Aaagh!’ they come close. But their grand ambitions occasionally lapse into Fun Lovin’ Criminals-style misdemeanour, and 10 white Dubliners rapping about “Your kind of homie, yo” is always going to sound a bit granddad-at-the-wedding. Yo.

What a ridiculous review above, obviously didnt even listen to the album because it is actually really great. More poppy and less soulful maybe but what it has is pure sleazy pop class. Everyone who listens to this album generally likes it. As for the rap there isnt much of that as the reviewer states, they do borrow heavily from american culture but it works. Great album, if the big tracks like ' Comeback Girl' and 'You know it' get the airplay this could be a big year for the Loose. 8/10
