Williams, Robbie : Somethin' Stupid

It's perhaps the most convincing cut from this whole ring-a-ding Robbie palaver...

While Nicole Kidman obviously inhabits an entirely different planet of stardom to Robbie Williams, it somehow doesn't seem that odd to find her cooing away on this cover of the Frank'n'Nancy 'classic'. While Robbie Williams
gets on with doing what we'd call, in Pop Idols parlance, a bit of a "cabaret performance", Kidman's all breathy insouciance and knowing pouts. It's perhaps the most convincing cut from this whole ring-a-ding Robbie Williams
palaver, and is proof that whole Moulin Rouge extravaganza wasn’t just a flash in the pan. In fact, maybe Kidman should ditch Hollywood altogether and reinvent herself as PJ Harvey. Well, it’s a thought…
