Robots In Disguise

We’re In The Music Biz

The missing link between Peaches, Le Tigre and Princess Superstar (and sometime bit players in The Mighty Boosh alterni-verse), Robots In Disguise should be massive. Or at least as big as any of that synthetic sisterhood – ‘The DJ’s Got A Gun’ is a lost classic of mid-noughties disco-punk, while 2005’s ‘Get RID!’ was a great DIY pop album. Too often in electro songwriting comes a poor second to making a gobby racket, but Dee Plume and Sue Denim deliver surprisingly clever, durable tunes that are nonetheless popping at their roughly soldered joints. ‘Can’t Stop Getting Wasted’ is Girls Aloud stripped of their gloss (“look at me, crashed out, face down in sick”); and how can you not love a band who open ‘Don’t Copy Me’ with the put down: “Was your hair cut by the council?/Two-in-one, Louise Brooks and Shirley Temple”?

I only heard of RiD a few weeks ago but i have't stopped listening to them! I think this album is deffinately worth buying, wether you like them or not. It does take a few listens to get into it, but once you do it's mind blowing! The best track has got the Sex Has Made Me Stupid, closely followed by I Live In Berlin.

A wonderful album from electo pop's best duo!
A witty mix of tunes that make your very soul dance and lyrics that are caked in humor and feeling.
Impossible not to love It.

This album is brilliant. It's not as electro as the others, it's much more punky. My favourite tracks are Can't Stop Getting Wasted, The Tears, I Don't Have A God and We're In The Music Biz, though all of the songs are genius! Go buy it. You'll love it.

This album is so ace with awesome dance tracks like The Sex Has Made Me Stupid and slower tracks like The Tears. It's more sort of rocky than the last albums. It's so worth the money just like their previous two albums! And if you see them live, prepare for a hard work out!

I found out about RID through the boosh and I never was a fan of electro before, but I love them!"Can't Stop Getting Wasted" is constantly in my head"The Tears" an anthem for any girl who's been cheated on"I Don't Have A God" the deeper side of RID. Brilliant and insightful!

they should definately be acknowledged more than they are. brilliant band! (much better than some of the rubbish that gets to number one at the moment) possibly their best album yet with songs like 'i dont have a god' and (my favourite) 'the tears'. its definitely worth the money! 10/10hope to see them live soon (if they do a gig in liverpool/manchester?!)
