Sexsmith, Ron feat Chris Martin : Gold In Them Hills
Do we need a Tori'n'Alanis with stubble?
After surviving the kiss of death - early acclaim by Paul McCartney - respected Canadian craftsman of wholegrain ballads Ron Sexsmith continues to skirt the edge of the big sucking wetness by inviting that guy who hangs around with Gwyneth for a cosy duet. Can we stand two touchy-feely guys bonding over depressed piano? Do we need a Tori'n'Alanis with stubble? In fact the song is a harmless enough re-take on the mood of The Velvets 'Perfect Day', but if there was a God, all copies would come with a sticker saying 'OK. Now Go And Buy A Tom Waits Album'.
