Royksopp : Remind Me/So Easy
Taken together, they’re more comforting and uplifting than a mug of MDMA-spiked Horlicks
About this time last year, NME took Kings Of Convenience to Ibiza. Little did we know that little more than twelve months later, Kings singer Erlend Oye would have almost completed a solo dance album and be guesting on singles by dark Norwegian dance lords Royksopp. Following ‘Poor Leno’, ‘Remind Me’ is beautifully evocative, melancholic folk disco, made even better by a remix which makes it sound a bit like ‘The Model’ by Kraftwerk. You’ll know ‘So Easy’ from the advert for T-Mobile phones – it’s the one that sounds like a chilly, star-sprinkled night in some remote mountain region. Taken together, they’re more comforting and uplifting than a mug of MDMA-spiked Horlicks.
