Adams, Ryan : Answering Bell

God’s gift to people who like to listen to music while they read the Sunday papers...

Everybody’s frappuccino studboy, the former Whiskeytown frontman is God’s gift to people who like to listen to music while they read the Sunday papers. A slowed down version of the Jackson Five’s ‘I Want You Back’ or - perhaps more accurately - ‘The Weight’ by The Band with no noticable changes,

‘Answering Bell’ has the Morrissey-loving songster hanging endlessly on the end of the telephone waiting for you to pick up. And it’s nice. Like Travis are nice, like sunshine is nice - nice in the kind of non-commital, unchallenging way that makes it impossible to hate Adams even though he’s stabbing rock’n’roll in the eye with a sharp pair of scissors every time he flicks his acoustic guitar. Coming soon to a Starbucks near you.
