She’s So Lovely

NME Logo
Lovely? Sheesh, this lass must be some mutant sugar’n’spice cross between Nurse Betty, Sleeping Beauty and Kate Nash judging by the way Roy Stride gleefully skips and summersaults up and down Keane’s piano keyboard, finger-clicking, hand-clapping and yelping “She’s so luverleeeewwvwwe’s

so luverleeee!” like a lovestruck Tom Cruise on Oprah’s couch. His reasons soon become apparent though – he’s pissed: “She’s flirty/Turned 30/Ain’t that the age a girl gets really dirty?” Surely thebest deployment of beer goggles in the sphere of vivacious piano perk-pop EVER.
