Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You) (Mercury)
Say it quietly but for what it was, 'That Don't Impress Me Much' wasn't such a terrible single, though playing it 30 times a day on Capital Radio did cause it to pall. Now, however, she's thoroughly outstayed her welcome. This sub 'Cotton Eye Joe'-style disco hoedown is the musical equivalent of a Harvester Restaurant, with Twain once again peddling the sort of sassy, glossy, 'feminism' used by advertisers to sell compact cars in the ads between Friends.
Even her name now seems annoying. 'Shania'. What was wrong with Jane?
