Sigur Ros 2

Hljomalind

There is no argument. Sigur Rós make the greatest atmospheric music ever. So we at NME are all excited to see them return with this single released ahead of their film Heima. They’re more of a pop band these days and this new release is more of a taster for their new DVD seeing as one of the tracks (a live, acoustic take on ‘Starálfur’ from the classic ‘Agætis Byrjun’ album) is about seven years old, but hey, who cares? ‘Hljómalind’ is a deeply emotional track that soars into the sky and brought us to tears while doing so. But we’ll cut the shoegaze-babble bullshit. Basically, Sigur Rós are still on top.
