The Slipknot conundrum. On the one hand, you want to congratulate them

for reintroducing the notion of 'spectacle' to rock'n'roll. For being lairy,

scary and controversial. For having a few ideas. On the other hand, there's just

no excuse for such odious music. This is plain ugly. It's not even good bad

metal, which is often permissible. Like the Bloodhound Gang, Blink

182
, Korn, Limp Bizkit et al, it's simply stupid music

for stupid people. I don't get it, and neither should you.
