Suburban Kids With Biblical Names

#3

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Nordic duo Johan Hedberg and Peter Gunnarson are very cool indeed. Seemingly out of nowhere, under the guise of Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, they’ve made a lush folk pop album that wouldn’t appear out of place in Sufjan Stevens’ personal CD collection. Electronica-tinged bluegrass cult hit-in-the-making ‘Loop Duplicate My Heart’ will have the most stubborn foot tapping; catchy, clever and coolly complex. Like a young primary school Beck skipping through The Shins’ back catalogue, this record harbours more romantic whimsy than those misty-eyed couples who choose to have hideous Disney-themed weddings. Bow down before the new Viking invasion.
