The Alones

Some bands think they’re clever, some bands actually are clever and some bands don’t give a chimp’s auntie. On their MySpace page Stoke-on-Trent’s The Alones list Oasis, The Beatles and The Who as three of their main influences – no arty-farty bands you’ve never heard of, just three of the best groups to have ever exploded out of this fair isle. ‘Silver’ is a hymn to their rock’n’roll influences – a pulsing, nads-kicker of a tune liberally laced with an Enemy style shrug and a snarl that makes Reverend And The Makers’ Jon McClure seem like the politest boy in the playground.
