The Beep Seals

Stars/The Chariot Song

The Beep Seals

You’ve got to love Manchester, really: what other city has churned out such

an uninterrupted line of curmudgeons and gloommeisters, penning song after song that wipes its misery like a Dirty Sanchez across the world’s top lip? This strikes us mainly because The Beep Seals must be the most cheerful band from Manchester ever – beaming, vintage-tinged psychedelic popstrels somewhat reminiscent of those Chicago cuties The Webb Brothers, but with brighter guitars and fuzzier organs. “I can’t pin all of my hopes on one chariot”, they chorus on ‘The Chariot Song’. Oh, go on, have a flutter.
