I'm A Realist

Probably a rare moment in a Cribs show, you can more or less guarantee this is three or so minutes in which you won’t get the foot of one of the Jarman brothers in your face. ‘I’m A Realist’, you see, is something of an interlude in the Cribs catalogue; not a slowie, exactly, but one where the pulse slows from a race into more of a saunter, guitars chime and trill instead of charging around and Ryan and Gary chorus “I’m an indecisive piece of shit”. If you still want blood, meanwhile, there’s a video where — spoiler alert! — a girl gets killed by a flowerpot while having a bath. Not seen that one before.

I don't think it tops 'Man's Needs' but it is still another great single from the Wakefield trio. 'Man's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever' is simply great album and this single proves it. The video looked like it features teenagers doing a Skins audition...the dude in it was quite cute though...

Not quite as catchy as "mens needs", it hasn't quite got me singing yet but still a great track from a brilliant band. Will be seeing them at the NME awards tour show at Brixton and i literally can't wait!

aggressive yet to the point, the melody provokes.......nah fuck that its a beast of a tune from a band you can really get behind, one of the standout tracks on the album definitely.

'Im a realist' tops 'mens needs', by far, yeah 'mens needs' is dead catchy but 'im a realist'just gets me dancing and singing everytime I listen to it,Infact it was 'Im a realist' that got me into the cribs, proper good & I love the strong accents in the song too ,dead sexy ;D!

a disappointingly dull single, livened only by the brilliant postal service remix on the bside of the vinyl. seek it out. 1000% better than the album mix.
