We wouldn’t necessarily call them new, but The Dykeenies certainly have more than their fair share of ideas, and seem intent on cramming them all into this one song. You want Killers-straddling synth-pop? Check. Chugging, guitar-led garage rock? Affirmative. Handclaps like every half-decent song ever? Oh yes. In other words, ‘New Ideas’ is ADHD-afflicted tunesmithery of the very highest order.
