Jealous Girls

With all the surrounding body politics chatter it’s sometimes too easy to forget that The Gossip are a band still surfing a pop singles quality wave rivalled only by Girls Aloud. Punkier and glammer than its predecessors, ‘Jealous Girls’ stomps and thrashes so magnificently that it doesn’t even require Ditto’s vocals to provide full-on volume-to-11 rock jollies, and when it suddenly decides to erupt into pneumatic-drill thrash-drumming towards the end, it hammers home the point that this band are way, way more than one lady’s awe-inspiring pipes.
