The Jesus And Mary Chain

Up Too High (Demo '83)

Jesus and Mary Chain
Encyclopaedic boxset ‘The Power Of Negative Thinking’ gathers up every last crumb that’s fallen from the East Kilbride noisemasters’ high-piled banquet table over the past 26 years, from the snarly ‘Kill Surf City’ to the filthy ‘Teenage Lust’. There’s even a few nuggets that have never been released before, including this sonic gem of a fuzz-free Reid brothers; sweet, New Order-ish melancholy with a drum-machine and little indication of the furious racket that would erupt mere months later.

CD album out Monday
