The Maccabees - 'Went Away'

A top track, but we miss their old musings

We’ll admit it. We preferred The Maccabees when they were singing about toothpaste and forgetting to shave. ‘Went Away’, then, is definitely not that, and instead it’s a perfectly serviceable slice of post-Arcade Fire indie. Which is fine, but can’t they just write another track about Colgate Total?
