The Music : Take the Long Road And Walk It

Love them because they sound totally, gloriously out of step with everything else at the moment...

Cosmic crusaders are five beautiful urban hippie star children from Leeds who make rock’n’roll sound like the greatest and most natural idea in the world. On ‘Take The Long Road And Walk It’ they channel the raucous spirit of Led Zeppelin and the feral majesty of the Stone Roses into a sprawling, spiralling hedonistic funk jam that sounds like it was recorded by druids in the middle of a crop circle near Stonehenge at sunrise during the Summer Solstice of 1973. Few bands have sailed these lysergic seas with as much style and conviction as . But don’t just love this group for their brilliant records. Love them because they sound totally, gloriously out of step with everything else at the moment. Let’s hope they always will.
