Holding off speculation that their second album is a bit of a ‘Sam’s Town’, The Rakes’ new single drags us on to the sticky dancefloor for one last can-can in east London’s finest boozersssssh (hic). But it’s getting late, so we leave, texting Al on the night bus home: “Oh Alan Donohoe/What do you do?/When you leave Hoxton/And your job in the cit-y/And become a pop star-y?/Is there anything left to say?” Er… no.
