About halfway through this comp it hits home how dramatically the Spice Girls lost the plot, as hitching a ride on the good ship R&B produced pappy, synthetic nonsense such as ‘Holler’. The likes of ‘Say You’ll Be There’ and ‘Goodbye’ are fine songs in any age, however, while new ballad ‘Headlines’ is functional but lacks a certain, ahem, zig-a-zig aaaaaaargh.
