The Diff'rent Strokes : This Isn't It

Tinkly renditions of popular favourites...

Yo ho ho! The ultimate tribute to the spiralling Strokes hype comes in the form of this affectionate pisstake quartet of easy-listening covers, from a jaunty Casiotone reggae take on 'Last Nite' to a shiny DIY disco chug through 'The Modern Age'. The press release drops teasing hints that some "very cool bands" are involved, but judging by the pastiche sleeve featuring toys recreating the 'Smell The Glove' original, this could easily be the work of Adam & Joe. Spookily, the clockwork music-box tumble through 'Is This It?' is actually better than the original.
