The Teenagers

Starlett Johansson

The song that, for obvious title-related reasons, was the root of much of the attention garnered by these Parisian perv-poppers when they emerged a few short months back. Novelty value aside, though, there is much to love about their second single – a sleaze-ridden, only slightly stalkerish love letter set to a backdrop of crude drum machines, stop-start Pavement-style fuzz guitars and a supremely pretty (and actually very clever) chorus. Proof, then, that there’s more to this trio than just the “I fucked my American cunt” schoolboy shock tactics of their debut EP. Although, thankfully, not that much more.
