Pick-Me-Up Uppercut

Death, incest, spiralling depression and the psychology of animal torturers are all themes that definitely don’t appear on Pop Levi’s chipper-as-cheese new single. Instead, ‘Pick-Me-Up Uppercut’ is a tartrazine IV-line that melts down old ’60s cartoon bands from The Archies to Alvin And The Chipmunks into one power-pop leviathan. He’s so sugary-retro he even uses words like ‘honey’ to refer to his ladyfriend.
