It bloody would backfire on you if you played this at the disco an’ all [Not been to many indie discos recently then, Cashmore? – Ed]. ‘Backfire At The Disco’ is a tale of a date gone horribly wrong, something of which I’m sure the various Wombats have vast reservoirs of experience, and it is horribly tinny, underfed indie piffle full of inexpensive guitars and irritating “woo-woo-woos”. “It’s three o’clock and I’m feeling shite”, sings Matthew Murphy at one point – well, he’s clearly one of those people who believes that the way to relieve one’s misery is to spread it to other people.

I cannot think of a band worse than these and I cannot think of worse nightlife than Huddersfield as they seem to think its acceptable to play Wombats and Pigeon Detectives on repeat.Save the indie scene please!

Please stop this band from playing , these are a rip off of the libertines and will never live up to the quality on the indie scene seriously the album is not good :(

Come on....rip off of the Libertines...?? have you even heard the wombats?? I like the libertines, and i also like the wombats..but they dont sound anything like each other. Cant people just have some fun with music, does it have to be so serious??

the wombats are the most annoying thing since alex turner and alexa chung got together. they seem to think that by playing a cheesy tune, wearing bright colours and writing increasingly ridiculous lyrics that they're cool. i can imagine the three losers sat at home thinking 'hmm, "shite" yeah that's a cool word, the kids will love that, fit it in somewhere' in all fairness though, its does seem to be working for them, they do have a lot of fans. but in my opinion... the lyrics are 'shite', the image is 'shite' and more than anything, the music is 'shite'. i also think this is the worst of their irritating children's-tv-show-style jingles.oh and, people comparing them to the pigeon detectives, and the libertines... what the f**k!? they're nothing like! the pigeon detectives are quite good and having genuinely good tracks... and the libertines are quite frankly one of the best bands this country has ever seen!
