Fear Of Fragility

To My Boy

Yet more fluorescent adolescents to take to your Day-Glo hearts, To My Boy offer a no-nonsense electro-pop even Jim Davidson would find it hard to argue with. “What do I know of death/I’m alive”, sighs splendidly-named singer Jack Snape prior to a chorus even Dave Gahan wouldn’t sniff at. Partner in grime Sam White, meanwhile, delivers a throbbing neon-rock crunch in support which suggests Soft Cell are never far from his iPod. Better still, an acoustic version on the ‘flipside’ is a superior piece of Erasure-ish pop noir which proves that, in the end all singles are, by definition, pretty lonely.
