A Journey From A To B
There was once something subversive about Damon Gough – a gerbil-like Manc lad who hid the starling songcraft of a Bacharach or McCartney under his tea-cosy. Recently, though, he’s adopted the leaden trudge of one who’s convinced he’s making music of importance. Here, Gough ponders “the distance from heaven and hell” and the fact life is just a brief candle in the darkness of eternity. Crucially, he does it without any good jokes. Yawn.
