The Time Of Times

While there is a risk that NME’s mother is going to put us across her knee and get busy with the slipper, we’re going to say this anyway (and while we’re at it, we’re not tidying our room): Badly Drawn Boy is rubbish and this sounds like a dodgy Proclaimers B-side. Sacrificing some serious cool points however, it isn’t terrible. Naturally it will be beloved by the masses, Richard Curtis will use it in a film, then it’ll be on a bread advert and lavender-scented yoghurt fanciers everywhere will think it’s “just lovely”. The rest of the music-loving world? It’ll be a guilty pleasure perhaps.
