The band with the most superfluous comma in rock (at least exclamation marks are punk rock! Aren’t they Los Campesinos!, Hadouken!, !!! etc?) are never going to inspire outbreaks of frenzied air-guitar, but ‘Saturday Waits’ is almost a bit too slight in its light-fingered, vaguely Gallic summer-pop stylings. That said, it is also rather lovely, even if Emil Svanängen spends much of the chorus sounding like he might have his extremities in a vice, being firmly tightened by the girly-singing bloke from the Delays. But then he does look a bit like Tubbs from The League Of Gentlemen, and there’s not enough of that in pop.
