Northern monkeys incite more riots
Louie’s second offering is the sound of a scuffle at an otherwise dignified affair: guitars and bass sizing each other up from the start, unhinged drums piling in to provide the catalyst and it all kicking off. Screams, yelps and inconsistent babble from a foaming-at-the-mouth lunatic being carried outside are backed by drums kicking and flailing like thrashing legs in protest, guitars scratching their claws at onlookers and gang-like harmonies from the mates joining in. This is a song that’s had one too many, is convulsing dangerously near the edge and doesn’t give a toss. That the whole thing’s escorted away within a hundred seconds makes it all the more precious.
