Shoveling Sons(Chemikal Underground)

Roads paved by dead souls. Shoveling sons keeping us awake. The night’s misgivings. California’s ever-doleful [a]Radar Bros.[/a], we suspect, are singing a load of nonsense. However, given a willowy melody, a sparse acoustic strum and melting harmonies, it sounds like misery’s elevation, delivery from despair, deathbed optimism. It’s also one of the finer tracks on [a]Radar Bros.[/a]’ very fine ‘The Singing Hatchet’ LP where,

if you’re interested in such things, you can find a whole wealth of lustrous melancholia.
