Maths : Three Parts Boogie

It's the taking part that counts.

Deeply troubling, the notion of a French deep house producer collaborating with slide-happy guitarist and former Scott 4 bod, John Moody. Yep. That’s north London south of the border, meeting its very musical antithesis: smart-stepping, smarter-dressing Gallic groovery. Two universes colliding. It’s a recipe for disaster or at the very least, an unattractively woolly fracas. Instead, the intriguing ‘Three Parts Boogie’ lopes in on a slack dub guitar line and gradually finds itself with its hands in the air, looking lively. The electronics and crisp rhythms win the day, but really, it’s the taking part that counts.
