A subtly beautiful tune and some typically memorable wordsmithery
Apparently, Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien and Phil Selway are playing five New Zealand dates with Neil Finn in April. Good of Neil to give them a leg up like that. Like all the Crowded House man’s best songs, you’d be unlikely to pick this out from similar Radio 2 fodder, unless you were really concentrating, but repeated listens reveal a subtly beautiful tune and some typically memorable wordsmithery. Clearly too nice for his own good, Finn’s forthcoming album, ‘One Nil’, will feature a contribution from Sheryl Crow.
