Mo Solid Gold : Personal Saviour

Had Paul Adam opted for the cabaret Reefness of 'Personal Saviour', he may have been onto a winner/loser.

Without wishing to take anything away from ‘Pure And Simple’, just what kind of musical atrocity would it have taken for Hear’Say not to have achieved a Number One single? What heinous, songless song could have been so utterly lacking in merit as to have caused certain failure? It’s a tough call, but had Paul Adam (Ian Brown’s A&R man – the same one insisting that the Popstars act be able to sing live) opted for the cabaret Reefness of ‘Personal Saviour’, he may have been onto a winner/loser. Let’s hope the fact that Mo Solid Gold have been touring with Ocean Colour Scene doesn’t have a similarly detrimental effect on our favourite Wellerish rockers.
