Longpigs : Blue skies

What do you mean you hadn’t noticed they’d been away? For those of

us who cared about the messy beauty of the [a]Longpigs[/a]’ debut album three years ago

and their subsequent [a]Stone Roses[/a]-like absence, ‘Blue Skies‘ is a welcome return.

Thankfully, this doesn’t disappoint. Ragged and angry, Crispin Hunt‘s still got that hoarse, desperate voice that tears a melody to pieces and strains over the frantic scramble of guitars that dominate this track. It’s more punky and less polished than anything on the first album and finally lets the [a]Longpigs[/a] capture the edgy explosiveness of their live sets. Everyone else will hate this, but don’t listen to them. They are all wrong.
