A grittily ominous tune about drug dealing, and instantly forgettable. Again.
Some things just never go away. Others, like smoker’s cough,
warts and Alabama 3 go away
so convincingly, you think you’ll never see them again – only to wake up one morning and… oh, damn. Alabama 3, shakers of gospel/acid house/rock’n’roll grooves who all go by the name
of Love, seemed to disappear a couple years ago, but they were simply stuck. Now, their career has been bizarrely resuscitated with their contribution to the hit series The Sopranos and a residency at Camden’s Underworld, which served both to bolster cockroach analogies and remind us how much fun they can be. This one, for the record, is a grittily ominous tune about drug dealing, and instantly forgettable. Again.
