Groove Armada : Superstylin’

Don't expect to hear this down your local aerobics class.

You’re probably as bored with Groove Armada’s last album, ‘Vertigo’, as they are. Like Moby’s ‘Play’, it seems to crop up everywhere – deodorant ads, Ibiza chill-out comps, the hairdresser’s. So Tom Findlay and Andy Cato have wisely dug deeper and darker for their comeback single. ‘Superstylin” is a dubbed-out dancehall rumble, displaying their typical command of the groove but shot through with a hint of Leftfield edginess – so don’t expect to hear this down your local aerobics class. The flip, the Tim Hutton-warbled ‘Tuning In’, is similarly spartan but still bobs up and down on warm chords and lapping beats, in classic Armada blissed-out fashion.
