‘On The Run’ is really only notable for having the most non-committal guitar solo ever...
Emerging from the Liverpool scene, The Crescent appear to be everything you’d hope for in a new rock band. They’re young (just 20), they’re scallies (career options: rock star or drug dealer) and they’re suitably reverential towards their rock heritage. So much so that local legend Lee Mavers (frontman from pre-Britpop heroes The La’s) was an early fan. But since The La’s, and more recently [a]Coral[/a], a new Liverpool band needs to be rather special and The Crescent’s debut single ‘On The Run’ is just adequate retro rock.
With some rucking The Crescent could prove a popular Oasis support band but ‘On The Run’ is really only notable for having the most non-committal guitar solo ever. Still, we – and they – shouldn’t give up hope just yet.
