...this limited-edition house thumper is their best and most club-friendly yet...
Having crafted some of the cheesiest musical crimes of the novelty big-beat boom, including a wretched mix of [a]Terrorvision[/a]’s ‘Tequila’, few would have expected Manc duo Neil Caxton and Chris Baker to still be making records in 2002, never mind tunes this effortlessly charming. Their tender link-up with Lauren Laverne on ‘Don’t Falter’ signalled a progression towards
left-field duets in the Chemicals/Jaxx mould, as does their imminent ‘official’ single release with Prince Buster on vocals, ‘Sexiest Man In Jamaica’.
But for the moment, this limited-edition house thumper is their best and most club-friendly yet, an uplifting nu-disco stomp which reminds me of hazy sunrises on the terrace at Pacha in Ibiza – and I’ve never even been to Ibiza. Boom boom.
