Lupine Howl : Don’t Lose Your Head

Take a deep breath, it’s the return of the artists formerly known as Spiritualized. Few would’ve predicted that after their unceremonious dumping by Jason Pierce in the summer of 1999, Sean Cook and Mike Mooney would ever record a single as good as this. In the past [a][/a] sounded like a Stars In Their Eyes-standard bunch of Jason Pierce wannabes who couldn’t afford a choir or orchestra. But ‘Don’t Lose Your Head’ is a different matter altogether.

They’ve placed less emphasis on sounding like Spiritualized and more on their emotion and sentiment, the end result being a pretty love song about the purity of life peppered with pretty xylophones, acoustic guitars and dancing strings. Lovely.
