Scouse crew sound like their early imitators
The Coral used to release mini-masterpieces as singles, chocca with milkman-friendly melodies, vivid imagination and bits that sounded like ferrets Morris-dancing. ‘Something Inside Of Me’ retains the impeccable melodies and harmonies at the cost of, well, anything else. Indeed, this sounds more like the work of one of their numerous (now defunct) early imitators – pleasant enough, but in no danger of becoming something brilliant. The Bandits would’ve killed for this tune, but unfortunately, that doesn’t say an awful lot.
