Sons And Daughters

Darling

It might begin with a skewy guitar crunch that could have been sliced off The Coral’s first album but make no mistake, Sons And Daughters – a band always defined by their conventionality – haven’t suddenly gone all sea shanty on us with this, the lead single of their forthcoming third album. Nah, this is another roughcast pop-rock rollock that does the job admirably without ever inducing much excitement – a bit like a decent towel. It’s kind of like The Long Blondes pumping iron bars with tambourines on the end while ‘Lust For Life’ blasts from MTV on the monitor overhead. It’s alright.
