Back To The Bus: Funeral For A Friend

Various Artists

2 / 10 Usually these compilations are a chance for bands to show just how insider indie and downright credible they are by picking records so obscure even the late John Peel would have been left scratching his head in bemusement. Funeral For A Friend, however, have no such lofty aspirations and flit between end-of-the-night crowd-pleasers and dodgy dad-metal. With tracks from Faith No More (‘Midlife Crisis’) and Megadeth (‘Holy Wars’) and on the marginally jollier side of things, Queen (‘Don’t Stop Me Now’) and Boston (‘More Than A Feeling’), it’s about a relevant as a day of back-to-back episodes of On The Buses on ITV3 and about half as enjoyable.
